Happy Thanksgiving

my recent update includes the Flu, a cold, and cable TV. Yes, our fun summer has ended and we haven't gotten out of our "large" apartment much. It rains a lot this time of year and is dark at 4:30pm. So, until the snow forms and we are able to start new sports the pictures of this beautiful area will be slim, and my posts infrequent.

I am wishing all of you a happy "Gobble Gobble Day"

Roman Nose Lakes and Halloween

On a cold and Rainey Saturday we went to one of the hundreds of small mountain lakes in Northern Idaho. They all look fairly similiar but I enjoy them all. Jeff caught a fish, I didn't.

I just think this picture turnes out cool looking. If you can't tell it is me freezing my buttocks off while searching for some large trophy animal.

I will only participate this once

If one person tags me I don't do it, but since at least 4 people have tagged me with this...and summer participated, I guess I will.

1. As many of you know I hate the sound metal on metal makes- like stirring a pot with wire wisk or when people's rings scratch when holding onto a hand rail, as well as forks scratching on plates. my teeth hurt just thinking about it.

2. I can't touch paper items after swimming in a chlorinated pool, it makes my fingernails hurt.

3. I still bite my nails and I have really never tried to quit, against my mothers best wishes. I bite when board or nervous or if they look uneven. Very unsanitary.

4. I will only share an apple with a few choice people. Even some of my closest friends do not qualify....yet I will chew my grimey fingernails.....I need a shrink.

5. last but not least, I gain incredible strength and reflexes when being tickled in a few choice spots. I laugh so hard that I can't breathe, start wheezing, and maybe even pee a little. But if you get to close or attempt to continue chances are I will hurt you with my reckless strength.

Now that I think of them...I have so many more. What a weirdo. I tag everyone else that has not completed this internal review of craziness.

Harrison Lake and a mustache

Jeff took about 5 pictures of himself in variable lighting conditions to highlight his thickest mustache ever. The bathroom light put out the most contrasting picture. For a guy so proud of his mustache, he couldn't take himself seriously enough to wear it to work.
Harrison lake was so fun, but very cold. When we got to the top we could see clear into Canada
Jeff got this shell last year at the black diamond swap for $15, another proud achievement in his life.

good catch

Good catch! I know we could eat for weeks off this one. This is my favorite look of jeff's, the long hair with the handlebar mustache. I am sorry to say that this look no longer exists since jeff has recently had his yearly haircut....the tennis ball look.

summer outings

This is lake estell, we had to go over 67 fallen pine trees and follow the bear prints in the dark to get there. It was worth it...we have other better pictures, but at least this has us in it.
4th of july celebration hike. We watched the fireworks from here.
This is how sweaty I was after carrying my pack up this mountainous trail.

I love this guy!

Since I didn't actually get to talk to my dad on fathers day, I hope that he will view this post dedicated purely to him! This is the only picture I have of my dad on the computer, but it will do.
Top 5 reason I love this guy!
1. He always plans a family hike or outdoor event when we come to visit...and he never makes anyone come if they don't want to (only the family will get that).
2. The infamous expression..... "Good Heck Krystyn"
3. His concern for his children, and whether or not they have a reliable vehicle.
4. How he can make any type of work into something enjoyable, and even if you help him a little, his sincerity and gratitude makes you feel like you made a big difference.
5. How you can get him any random gift and he'll wear it around the house for hours admiring his new toy.
and one more...how he is always scheming a new plan, change, or venture to involve himself and the family with.
Dad you are the best! Thanks for being my dad!
love you!

What a professional!

So I often share stories of my interesting co-workers. Although I have come to enjoy them, this picture says it all! Sorry for the crude content and sideways orientation.
This is on our expedition up the face of Ben Lomond Peak. Jeff, my Dad, Butch (Rachel's hubbie)

Since one of us is skiing and the other is driving, we have yet to figure out how to take a picture of us water skiing here. However, this is a bruise jensen received after a cold trip out to the lake. This means you are a hard core skier if your spray gives you a bruise....note that there is not one of my leg.

Technical Difficulties

so I haven't forgotten to keep up with this thing, however I am experiencing technical difficulties with posting pictures. My "New post" setting just quit giving me the image option. Maybe next time.

In the mean time, we have just visited Utah to pick up our new boat. The first time out we were flagged down by a cop to search the waters for a drowned kayaker. The next time around we actually went water skiing. Now we remember why we bought it! It was so choice, if you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up!

good time around the lake

This is from our first bike ride of the season. It was longer than anticipated because I failed to remember that if we put jensen on a bike, it is like pulling teeth to get him off! I am sore in various weird places, but it the picuture alone was worth it.
Temple trip...
The end of a waterfall I can't remember the name of
Me, when my rear decided it was time to make my face look mad....don't look too close

Boat Owners

The latest excitement for us has been the purchase of a small ski boat. I would tell you more except we haven't actually seen it yet. We actually have no idea where we are going to store it or park it so we have to move in order to accomodate this new purchase. However, we are excited and looking forward to our trip to Utah in order to pick it up. I just really hope the Jeep can tow it.

The next point of excitement is (drum roll please)....I won Jeff two times playing tennis. I don't want to brag, but I think I'm getting pretty good. This must be my year because I think it is only the third time in over 3 years of marriage.

That is all that is new, I will have more pictures coming soon.

The Meyer Clan

Just Kidding

So remeber how I was bragging that our snowmobiles still work after all this time? Well, I spoke too soon. Last weekend we went for our last ride of the season. We got to the very top of the mountain, stopped the sleds to check out the view, then decided to head back. Only my snowmobile decided that was all she could take.

Therefore, after multiple attempts to drag it down some "friendly boozers" gave us a boost toward the road with their more powerful machines. We then were able to use jensen's sled (which also decided to blow a hose...again requiring assistance from the friendly boozers) to bounce our way back to our handy jeep. Where once more the "friendly boozers" helped us load the old girl on the trailer and fed us some simmered summer sausages.

Thanks to the friendliest, kindest, boozers in the world!

Catching you up

A view of the lake from the ski mountain. Everyone here says they put up with the winter here because the summer is so awesome.. we are looking forward to morning waterskiing on this baby!

We still have the old sleds...and they still run. However we did have to store them at a friends for a few weeks because our landlord didn't like the gas leak coming from them. I thought white trash gas leaks were acceptable in Idaho!

Okay, so this is jensen before take-off and his complete yard sale. The next thing that was said came from the guy to his right. He yelled, "you know, people usually get stunt men to perform those"

This is my favorite picture.. This is after fixing/maintaining cars in the snow since we have no garage. I don't know anyone who would be smiling after that, except jeff.

The Flu

So since I have no idea how to reply to any of your comments in a convenient way, I will just have to post a new entry to answer you. First--the hike was at waterfall canyon in ogden...a much easier hike with the snow. Second--Ash, I am so glad that you are back safe and sound...I would love to be able to chat with you soon...and not in cyberspace. Third--geez, thanks for looking at this, I hope it is somewhat entertaining and nobody knows when summer begins here. I think we are safe in august.

So this week we were fortunate enough to be blessed with more snow. Today we were going to hit the slopes but last night when I came home from work after a 14 hour day, Jensen was laying there in all his barfed-up glory. Yes, he has the flu...my superior genes are taking care of him on this beautiful and oddly sunny day. Needless to say, we are both really bummed out about being trapped indoors...so I ditched him and decided to get some fresh library air since I have still been unable to spend the "remote access" amount for wireless internet.

A very long winter in Sandpoint

So this is before the snow really came down

This is a picture from one of Jeff's back-country skiing adventures.
The snow here clings to the trees like I have never seen before

Here goes nothin

Noelle, Me, Jeff(in the back), Marissa, Mikah, My dad is taking the picture

This is our last visit to Utah for Jeff's little bro's wedding. I am a little out of order here since this happened in Dec. It was like pulling teeth to get the Meyer clan out on this hike, however, it was worth it!

Winter in Sandpoint, ID

Skiing @ Schwietzer...I know it looks like such a gorgeous day, right?

This is actually one of the most beautiful days we've seen since we've been here.

my first post

hey all! I am maybe going to make something of this blog! I really enjoy looking at yours and would like to update you on us. However, I am in the process of getting the internet hooked up at our house. i am having a rough time opening my wallet to pay for it(I know, i'm cheap). So within the next few weeks I hope to be up and running.
