a few cold activities

porter finally looking at something other than our pumpkin, he must be making a jack-o-lantern impression

this is last night, porter was hypnotized.

A cold rainy hike, jeff in full beard

Another really cold hike a few weeks ago in Priest River, we had to cut this one short out of fear that porter's nose would fall off. he also wouldn't stop licking his carrier, he was soaked through from drool by the end.

Skiing at Home

This is last nights outing: We left home at 5:30, fed Porter on the Lake, went water skiing with this scenery, chatted with a friend (we live in a small town so they are all friends or relatives), then were in the house by 7:30. I will brag more later-

I think Porter is finally used to the boating experience.

This is one of the ways we stow him, yes, we belong in North Idaho.

Glacier Natl Park

We went to meet Grandpa and to waterski, we have tons of gorgeous pictures but I don't have enough time to post too many.

Jeff on Lake McDonald, we had amazing weather! I think God heard my prayers since our last camping trip was a bit cold for Porter and me.

Porter having fun in the tent, he slept the longest increments ever in his life during the nights. I am tempted to set a tent up in the living room so we can keep the streak going.

This is the last day of our camping trip, we did not want to go home.

1 month

This is a picture of Porter today before we came to the library. I really tried to catch him smiling, but this was the best performance I could get--I know his eye looks a bit weird, he doesn't always look like that.
see.

Bath time.

We went to a music festival this weekend and Jeff put 6 month old pants on him by mistake, they actually fit in length. So he wore 6 month size khaki's to church on Sunday too. I am amazed at how fast he is growing and how strong he is getting.

Week 2

Porter met his Grandma Meyer and some cousins on week 2 --I'm backtracking. This is Jaysie holding Porter.
I just love this shirt-- I wish he could wear it every day.

Porter picking huckleberries at Schweitzer Mountain-- He loves to be outside as much as possible.

3 weeks old

This is our family photo shoot last night, Porter is dead to the world he is so sound asleep.

Grandma Pam and aunt Lisa visited us this week.

Porter's first time in the Lake at 2 weeks, it probably felt good after the long days in our hot, upstairs, non - air conditioned apartment.

This is Jeff's opinion of how Porter fit in my abdominal cavity.

In other news- Jeff's mom told me that you are not officially a mother until you have been pooped on in church--This Sunday I officially became a mother!

No Pictures

I had promised many that I would update the blog today with new photos. However, I failed to remember that Jeff took the camera with him backpacking with the scouts. So no pictures until next week.

Things are going well and Porter is growing like a weed and has changed so much. He is the sweetest little boy and really enjoys overeating at this point in his life. He got circumcised this week and has gained 10 oz in the past 13 days. He is becoming a bit more vocal especially when he needs to poop, I try to read to him but he gets frustrated and wants me to look at him and talk to him, rather than at him. To be honest I am getting pretty good at carrying on a high pitched, one way, third person conversation about nothing.

Porter has been visited by his grandmothers and two aunts. He has had his first shower with his dad and he fell asleep. We also put his feet in the lake last week and he could of cared less--his feet turned purple with cold but he seemed to enjoy himself. I will post pictures of the him at the lake next week. Sorry no shower photos were allowed.

Named

So i don't have time to post any more pictures since Jeff is making a last ditch effort to get this child to sleep. He is circling the parking lot in the car while I quickly announce that he has a name. Welcome Porter Jeff Jensen!!! Please go to sleep.

"I just love him so much"..."I know you do honey"

We are currently still trying to find a name that suits our hairy little monkey. He is getting cuter each day and he loves to be held and rocked. We are all very happy to be here and healthy at this point.

I don't know how anyone looks cute after giving birth--hammered describes all our faces best.

The stork bit a big old "V" on his forehead.

This is when he was only minutes old. 8lbs, 20 inches long.

6 days left

I am ready to roll, give me those contractions!! My bags are packed and I still hold hope that he will come on time...the sooner the better. And so, we wait.

Our attempt to get him here

This is the lookout point after a long bumpy drive in the Jeep. We only walked about 100 yards uphill because of the snow. I realized the sad truth at about the 1/2 way point, that I was out of breath. Oh, how I long for my old frame.

We have seen lots of waterfalls this year, Sandpoint is full of them.

I always forget to put these in the right direction, but this is mainly for my mother who says she can't tell how big I am from any of the photos I post.

Seattle....and 25 days to go

The baby has dropped; therefore, my stomach has room for food and I can breathe again. Seattle was the only option to fill my insatiable appetite, and I did eat!

Some amazing waterfall with a weird name I cannot remember.

We went to see the Mariners vs Twins game, they should really pad those seats.

Jeff sporting a respectable tennis ball. He is handsome!

Camping

I woke up in the middle of the night to the sounds of moose chasing each other around our tent and grunting similarly to bears. As I "pinched" jeff in the bum to wake him I asked, "do you think they'll trample our tent?" His reply, "they're not blind".

"Well, I gotta pee." Reply, ....................(I held it).

A bunch of pictures

Jeff took me on a leisurely hike to some waterfall we never quite found. It was at this point I realized that I would not be able to pass a sobriety test because I need a wider base of support to keep my balance.
The water hasn't warmed up past 48 deg. here....This is Jeff's third time out this year, I am yet to get in the water.

We love that our mom's came for a short visit just to say hello and take us out to dinner. They also somehow managed to spoil a grandchild they are yet to meet. This is Pam and Krystyn in front of Spokane Falls. My favorite part of their visit is when Jeff and I would go to bed and they would stay up chatting until the wee morning hours. There was a little role reversal, I felt like the old parent at a teenage slumber party.

I don't know why Jeff has nick-named me "sweat pants". Could it be my stunning prego body in those lavish sweats?

We have an amazing ward here that keeps growing!
